Completing the new product form

  • Select the type of product – Simple, variable, grouped or External/Affilliate, bookable or accommodation product. Note that some product types may not be available depending on your membership. The choice will not be available to free members since they will be automatically placed on simple product, the only product type they’re eligible to list.
  • Check “Catalog” if you wish to activate catalog mode. Check “Virtual” if listing a bookable or accommodation type product.
  • Enter a descriptive name for your product.
  • Input a price for your product.
  • If you’re giving a discount for the product, also input a sales price, else leave “Sale price” field blank.
  • Schedule:- Depending on your membership plan, you may have the “Schedule” link under the “Sale Price” box. Click this link to set up your product to be published at a later date.
  • Choose a category for your product. Put the product in the main category if there is no subcategory for it. You may request for a category, a tag or an attribute using the “Request category, tag or attribute” form in your seller dashboard.
  • Choose some tags for your product – Tags are keywords that describe your product, e.g. camera, lens, shoe or bed.
  • Click the large image placeholder on the right and upload the main image for your product. Daapia.com uses landscape images at ratio of 3:2 for product images, so match your images to these dimensions. You may upload portrait or square images, but note that they will be cropped and you may lose important parts of the image. The image width or height should be at least 1280px for landscape or portrait images respectively. The image file size must not exceed 1 MB.
  • Click the small image placeholder to add gallery images for your products. These are additional images which showcase your product from different angles. They follow the same rules as the main image above. You can add up to ten (10) product images depending on your membership plan. See Selling tips for more information about product images.
  • Catalog visibility – This setting controls where your products will be visible. You want your products to be visible in as many places as possible. You should leave the default value of “Shop and search results”. Choosing the hidden option will prevent your product from being seen by shoppers.
  • Short description – Add a one-paragraph summary description of your product.
  • Description – Add a detailed description of your product. Add any relevant information that has not already been added in another product field.
  • Configure the Inventory, Shipping, Attributes, Linked products, Grouped Products (If Grouped Product type is selected), Variations (If “Variable Product” product type is selected) options.
  • Product Policies: – You can configure product-specific policies to override the general policies.
  • Click the “Submit” button (bottom right) to publish your product when you’re done. Alternatively, you can save as a draft to review later before publishing. Click the “Draft” button (bottom right).

Notes

  1. The pricing for variable products is set up in the variations section.
  2. Grouped products are not a purchasable product type, but a way to group purchasable product types. Therefore, there is no pricing option for this product type. The pricing will be available in the configuration of the individual products added to the group.
  3. Affiliate/External products require two additional settings: URL and Button Text. The URL is the link to the external/affiliate product. The Button Text is the title of the button shoppers will click to go to the external/affiliate product.
