Daapia.com is owned by Daapia Empire, a sole proprietorship business registered in Ghana.

Ghana is a developing country, and as with most developing countries, the use of technology in buying and selling is still limited. Most people still do not have access to the convenience of online shopping. They are still limited to the brick and mortar shops around their immediate residence and cannot take advantage of the variety available across the country. Most transactions are still cash-based.

Daapia.com was established to add to the few online marketplaces that are available in Ghana to expand the variety of online shopping options.

Our vision

At daapia.com, we seek to encourage and promote the use of the online space for business in Ghana, so that Ghanaian residents can enjoy the comfort and convenience that online business brings.

Our mission

Among the few available online marketplaces in Ghana, most of them are classifieds sites. Therefore, even though sellers can sell their products online, buyers still have to contact sellers to arrange for local pickup or make payments offline. Daapia.com seeks to make it easier for sellers and buyers to exchange goods and services, and money. We seek to provide the ability for buyers to make online payments for goods and services.

At daapia.com, we are aware that most people in Ghana are not familiar with using debit cards and bank accounts in making payments. Therefore, we seek to integrate the ability for buyers to make payments through their mobile money (momo) wallets, since momo is a popular payment method in Ghana, though still in its infancy of integration with the traditional banking system.

At daapia.com, even with the desire to promote online buying and selling, we are not oblivious to the fact that a lot of people will feel uncomfortable making online payments, either out of fear of the online environment or lack of adequate knowledge of technology. Therefore, we seek to make available options that allow buyers and sellers to exchange goods and services, and money offline.

Daapia.com also seeks to provide extensive documentation to help buyers and sellers to easily use the website, so that they do not get frustrated in their quest to utilize the online space.

As we seek to promote online business, we are aware of the prominence of online fraud. Daapia.com seeks to put in measures to protect buyers from unscrupulous individuals who pose as sellers but intend to scam unsuspecting buyers, and unscrupulous buyers who want to scam sellers.
