Additionally, when you register for an account, submit documents to verify your account, add your social media information to your account, subscribe to our mailing list, or subscribe to receive comments updates, we collect or have access to certain information from you, including your name, company/business name, company/business address, ID card number, residential address, email address, phone number and your social media page links.  We refer to this information as “Account Information.”

You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may NOT be able to provide you with some of your desired services.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).  Since sellers handle their own shipping, they may be given access to your phone number and shipping address in order to contact you and to ship your order. Subsequently, the shipping companies that handle the shipping of your products may also be given access to your phone number and your shipping address.

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, the Site transmits your credit/debit card data to the payment processor. The data is encrypted through the Site’s SSL and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by the Site and its service providers.

Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect (in particular, your IP address) to help us screen for potential risk and fraud, and more generally to improve and optimize the Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We use the Account Information that we collect to give you access to services on daapia.com, to maintain your account on daapia.com, to send you communications and to connect you with your customers and other shoppers. If you post a job on our jobs site, your email address and your business/office address may be displayed on the site to allow candidates to contact you. In addition, if you contact a candidate or an employer on the jobs site, they will have access to your email address in order to reply to your query.
