Buyer Protection

Daapia.com provides Buyer Protection in order to provide some level of protection to buyers. Buyer protection is necessitated by the prominence of online fraud. Most transactions will go smoothly without a hitch because most sellers are genuine. However, there are few unscrupulous people who will take every opportunity to dupe buyers. They use all kinds of tricks, from listing items they do not have to deliberately giving false product descriptions.

Conditions of the Buyer Protection

Buyer Protection covers all online payments made for products/services offered by sellers on daapia.com, unless otherwise stated in one of our policies.

Buyer Protection is only available for online payments. It is automatically activated whenever an online payment is made for a seller’s product or service. Buyer Protection is NOT available for payments made offline (off daapia.com). Transactions made off daapia.com are exclusively the seller’s and the buyer’s responsibility. Payments made using cash on delivery or during local pickup are not covered by daapia.com’s buyer protection. This is because the buyer sees the item and confirms it’s acceptability before making payment. Also, monies paid to sellers through these methods cannot be controlled by daapia.com or its payment partners. Every buyer is eligible for daapia.com’s Buyer Protection.

How Buyer Protection works

Whenever, an online payment is made for a seller’s product, the payment goes to daapia.com. Daapia.com holds the money for a period of seven (7) days. Within these seven days, if

  1. the buyer does not receive the product,
  2. the buyer receives the product but it is not as described,
  3. the product is damaged upon receipt, or
  4. the buyer activates any return or cancellation policy the seller offers which qualifies the buyer for a refund,

the buyer can request for a refund. Upon investigation by daapia.com, if the buyer is found to merit the refund, they are refunded based on the conditions defined in the seller’s and/or daapia.com’s return and refund policies.
